This family house in Berlin-Zehlendorf is built almost entirely in timber. Its prefabricated wall elements were lifted into place by crane and fixed with long timber screws, a process documented step by step in the project. The construction is not hidden: the ceiling beams, the joints and the timber stair remain visible and give the interiors their warmth and order.

Axonometric studies explored the volume as a series of simple gabled forms adapted to the plot and the neighbouring houses. The ground floor opens with large glazing towards the garden and a covered terrace, while the upper floor is quieter, with rooms tucked under the roof. A reduced palette of wood, plaster and concrete and a high degree of prefabrication make the house both sustainable and precise, an example of contemporary timber building in a suburban context.
