OHL42

OHL42 transforms an attic in Berlin into a generous apartment organised around a central core of built-in furniture. This core contains the kitchen, storage and service spaces and divides the open floor into different zones without closing them off, so that light and views flow through the entire space.

A spiral stair of steel leads up to a terrace on the roof, turning the apartment into a place connected with the sky. Floor plans before and after the intervention reveal how the original fragmented rooms have been transformed into a fluid, continuous interior. Timber floors, white surfaces and carefully placed roof windows create a bright and calm atmosphere.
