URB105-7

URB105-7 adds a rooftop extension to a residential building in Berlin. The new level is clad in green metal panels, a contemporary material that relates to the patina of the historic copper and zinc roofs of the city.

The extension is set back from the street facade and integrates with the existing building and its rear wing. Axonometric views, site plans and elevations document the relationship between the new volume and its surroundings. The project shows how an additional storey can contribute to the densification of the city while adding a distinctive new layer to the streetscape.
